HUG has created a new social group in Largo, Friends on the Spectrum, for adults on the autism spectrum, or related disabilities looking for fun activities. Friends on the Spectrum will host its first event January 26, 2018 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm which will feature a game night at St Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, Florida. This event is no cost and drinks and snacks will be provided.
Friends On The Spectrum is a social group for adults with disabilities. We want to create an fun environment where all feel welcome and comfortable. Friends On The Spectrum is co-organized by Kim Clairy, an adult with ASD and SPD who also holds her master’s degree in occupational therapy. She uses her unique perspective as an OT living with ASD and SPD to help local organizations make their programs more autism and sensory friendly.
Friends on the Spectrum gathers in a sensory-friendly environment to foster friendships within the community, with each event showcasing a different theme. Our events will be held in the Clearwater and Largo areas. Any adult on the spectrum is encouraged to come to the event and may bring a friend, family member or a support person.
Come join us for a great night of games, conversation, and new friends!
