HUG Ambassadors Steal the Show

By February 5, 2018HUG Ambassadors

Friday night was the Provider Resource Fair in Largo where twenty six vendors from the Tampa Bay area came out to share their resources with community members and other organizations helping people with special needs and disabilities. This was the first provider fair for the HUG team as vendors and we did our best to stand out.

A big hit for Help Us Gather during the provider fair was the official announcement of our HUG Ambassador program. We softly launched the program about a week prior inviting outstanding members of the community to become HUG Ambassadors. Our HUG Ambassadors are people with special needs or disabilities who love to have fun, connect with others, and want to help us spread the mission of Help Us Gather. There has been such a great response to this program that it became the topic of our keynote presentation. With the help of Ambassadors Rick Farr and Dirk Howard’s awesome dance moves we had quite the show. Our table was crowded the entire night and many inspiring people came to offer words of encouragement along with new program ideas to add to our HUG calendar.  Overall we signed up 9 new HUG  Ambassadors to our program! We are so happy to have these new members involved with our team.

Thank you to everyone who came over to support the HUG Team on Friday night and to all that help create a more inclusive Tampa Bay!
